Global Heart Hour is…the idea of taking an hour around Valentine’s to focus on doing more for the world any way you choose.

The current unprecedented global crises, financial, food, climate change, disasters, wars, etc., will wipe out the gains made in Millennium Development Goals and increase inequity and disparities even further. Global Heart Hour is one response to the many crises we face which are making existing disparities even greater according to a January 30th Lancet Editorial. We hope to put our minds and hearts together to engage others in finding novel ideas and actions for change.

Global Heart Hour is a grass-roots, people-driven, idea-powered and open-source collaboration that builds on twenty-five years of a Valentine's Day for Heart Health, and four years of a Global Heart project.

Ideas for the Hour already becoming actions: having a Valentine’s party with fewer gifts and chocolates and more donations to a charity of choice, sharing ideas, poetry and more on Facebook and YouTube, and promoting heart health which is now advocated for development and poverty reduction.
